Over 50. 7 runs. Bowler: Marcus Stoinis. India: 254/9 (rr 5.08)
  • 49.6

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Glenn Maxwell. Length ball, outside off stump moves in front driving, to deep cover for 2 runs, fielded by Dhawan.

288-5 is what Australia finish on and the way the ODI game is going that doesn't look to be enough. In the middle-overs they were almost inspired by their retro kits as they nudged and nurdled the ball around, picking up singles but no boundaries. It needed a late flourish from Peter Handscomb and Marcus Stoinis, who were both guilty of slowing the run-rate, to get them anywhere near 300. Another talking point will be the late arrival of Glenn Maxwell. He only faced five deliveries and a player of his quality can change games at will.
You would have to suspect India are very pleased with the total they have to chase and with Virat Kohli in the lineup anything is possible.

  • 49.5

FOUR! Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Glenn Maxwell. Slower length ball, outside off stump moves in front flick, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Whippage. Minimal foot movement but it is all about the wrists as he sends the ball to the rope.

Easiest of catches for Dhawan in the deep. No power on the shot as it's lofted into the off side. Very good bowling from Bhuvi, bowling the hard length which is tricky to hit.

Short, outside off stump down the track pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled over deep backward square leg for 6 runs, dropped catch by Rayudu, mis-fielded by Rayudu. মহম্মদ সামি c Glenn Maxwell b Marcus Stoinis 1 (2)

OUT! Caught. Marcus Stoinis to Mohammed Shami. Slower length ball, off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, by Maxwell.

Deceived by a good slower ball. Shami sends a high ball into the deep and Maxwell makes it look very simple. Australia start 2019 with an ODI win which didn't happen much last year. The start they made with the ball was what really did the damage. Restricting India to 4-3 with the danger-men back in the shed, but Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni didn't give up easy. A very good partnership of 137 brought them into the game but it was always going to be a tough ask, especially when Dhoni fell and the run-rate increased. Onto the next game on the 15th where India will look to tie up the series.

    রোহিত শর্মা c Glenn Maxwell b Marcus Stoinis 133 (129)

OUT! Caught. Marcus Stoinis to Rohit Sharma. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, top edge in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, by Maxwell. Stoinis ends a superb knock from Rohit. The energy was starting to dwindle at the end just when he was needed to hit the big shots. Good change of pace from Stoinis and a good catch in the deep as the ball went very high. That is probably game over for India.

  • 45.3

FOUR! Marcus Stoinis to Rohit Sharma. Full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past long off for 4 runs. Too easy for Rohit. Mid off is inside the ring so a simple lofted drive back over the man brings him four.
