Sutherland lead the way - Earlier, the toss fell Manchester's way, but they were not at their best with the ball and could not put things together for long periods. The Super Giants fell well short - Smriti Mandhana provided a bright start to the chase, but could not convert it into a substantial innings. Once she fell, no one was able to maintain the momentum going and keep pace with the required rate. On a slower, drier wicket, Leeds took a cue from what had worked for Manchester earlier and made a conscious effort to take pace off the ball. Jess Jonassen led the way with a three-wicket haul, and the rest chimed in to put the chase beyond Manchester's reach.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Who else could it possibly be but Annabel Sutherland? A superb all-round performance from the Australian, with an unbeaten 62 off 36 balls, 2/17 with the ball and two catches to cap off a memorable outing. Sutherland says this might well be the most complete game she has played, and the fact that it comes with a spot in the next round at stake makes it even better. Annabel reckons that they just needed to stay calm, as they knew with a score like that on the board, Manchester Super Giants Women would come out strong, and just a couple of wickets were needed to change the momentum of the game.

Sunrisers are Eliminator bound - Set up by a strong batting effort, Leeds followed it up with a professional job with the ball to seal the deal. As they say, it is about peaking at the right time, and Danielle Gibson's side have certainly done that. After just one win from their first four games, they have now won four in a row to set up a date with Southern Brave in the Eliminator. Manchester Super Giants, meanwhile, oscillated between wins and losses in the second half of their campaign and could not find the consistency needed to secure an Eliminator berth.
