An excellent England performance in the field has restricted New Zealand to 223. Chris Woakes was magnifcent with 3-32 and the spin twins Adil Rashid (3-42) and Moeen Ali (1-42) did a great job bowling in tandem in the middle overs. The Kiwis slumped to 93-6 before Henry Nicholls (55) and Mitchell Santner (67) joined forces to keep them in the contest. England are strong favourites though at the halfway stage.

England take the series 3-2 in a one-sided finale. Chris Woakes and the rest of the English attack stifled the Kiwis and the home side could only get a disappointing 223.
England never gave New Zealand a sniff in reply, Jonny Bairstow smacking 104 from 60 balls. Alex Hales was happy to play second fiddle alongside him and he made a steady 61 on his return to the side. Cameos from Joe Root and Ben Stokes put the finishing touches to a clinical victory. We now look forward to the two-test series between these sides.
