A positive innings for Tridents - After all the wait, all the frustration, this match is just living up to its expectations. Even after an untimely injury forced Jewel Andrew to retire hurt, young Ackeem Auguste took the game by the scruff of the neck. Auguste played a breathtaking knock, smashing boundaries and sixes on his way to 63 off just 34 balls, keeping the Kings firmly alive at 86/2 at the halfway stage.

De Kock and Rutherford light up the stage - Put into bat under overcast skies, the Tridents lost Zachary Carter early before Quinton de Kock tore into the bowling with a blistering 38. Brandon King anchored the top order with a solid 39, but a quick double-strike left the Tridents at 90/3 at the halfway mark. That was the cue for Sherfane Rutherford to take charge. He clobbered five sixes in a sensational 61 off 31 deliveries. Despite Rivaldo Clarke struggling to rotate strike, a final-ball maximum from skipper Chris Green lifted the Tridents to a commanding 177/5.
