The West Indies bowling unit was absolutely brilliant in defense, led by Khary Pierre who bagged two crucial wickets, while the other bowlers picked up one apiece. Vitel Lawes also bowled with great heart and control, however, he remained incredibly unlucky to go wicketless while leaking a few extra runs toward the back end.

Spinners sound the alarm after promising Kiwi start - Much like the West Indies innings, New Zealand started their batting innings on a positive note. While they did not quite match the explosive nature of the Windies' opening stand, the top order laid a solid foundation before the pitch began to play tricks. As the ball softened a tad, the West Indies spinners extracted immense turn and bounce from the spin-friendly conditions. The home side struck in tandems and put the brakes on the scoring rate, causing a middle-order wobble.

It was never an easy chase on a challenging surface, but the Kiwis showed tremendous grit to overcome the pressure and cross the finish line with five wickets in hand.
