They followed that up with impressive discipline and consistency, despite a partnership blossoming. In the middle phase, R Rajkumar and Sanjay Yadav took centre stage, combining for four wickets. Their timely breakthroughs kept the pressure firmly on and ensured Nellai never found a way back into the contest. Athisayaraj Davidson then returned to strike again, adding two more to his tally and completely shutting the doors on Nellai Royal Kings.

That knocked the wind out of Nellai's sails, and the chase struggled to gather any real momentum thereafter. U Mukilesh and Athish S R briefly revived the pursuit with a 74-run stand, but once that partnership was broken, the chase nosedived, and the Kings never recovered.
