একদিকে ওভাল টেস্টের শেষ দিনে দুর্দান্ত লড়াইয়ের জন্য কেএল রাহুল এবং পন্থকে অভিনন্দন জানালো টুইটার ব্যবহারকারীরা, অন্য দিকে ভারতীয় কোচ হিসেবে রবি শাস্ত্রীকে বাদ দেওয়ার কথা তুলল। 

ওভালে পঞ্চম তথা সিরিজের শেষ টেস্টে ১০৬ রানে পরাজয়ে ইংরেজদের বিরুদ্ধে ভারত ৪-১ ফলে সিরিজ হেরেছে। তবে একেবারে শেষ দিনে এসে কেএল রাহুল ও ঋষভ পন্থের দুর্দান্ত প্রতিরোধে ভারতের জন্য আশার সঞ্চার হয়েছিল। কিন্তু আদিল রশিদের বলে তাঁরা দুজন ফিরতেই দ্রুত ভারতের ব্যাটিং লেজ ছেঁটে ফেলে ইংরেজ বোলাররা।
