ব্যাটিং লাইআপের এই ভাঙনের মুখে একা রুখে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন চেতেশ্বর পুজারা। কোনও রকম তাড়াহুড়ো না করে, সুবিধা মতো গিয়ার বদলে তিনি অস্ট্রেলিয়ার মাটিতে তাঁর প্রথম শতরান করে যান। প্রথম ৫০ রান করতে ১৫২ বল নিলেও তারপর তিনি রা তোলার গতি ক্রমে বাড়িয়েছিলেন। পরের ৫০ রা আসে ৭৮ বলে।
